Family Support Benefits

Inclusive Family Benefits (Aetna only)
SIE partners with Progyny to offer comprehensive fertility benefits to support every path to parenthood, including single parents, LGBTQ+ individuals and couples, and those who want to preserve their fertility.

Progyny’s Smart Cycle coverage includes IUI, IVF, egg freezing, surrogacy, adoption counseling, the purchase of donor eggs and sperm, and more.

Adoption and Surrogacy Reimbursement
SIE reimburses up to $20,000 toward the cost of a legal adoption and surrogacy-related expenses.

Breast Milk Shipping
Returning to work can be tough when you’re a new mom, especially when your job requires you to travel. Milk Stork provides everything you need to overnight a day’s supply of breast milk home to your baby.

Modern Health 
You and your household members each get eight free sessions with a therapist and eight free sessions with a certified coach each calendar year. You also can participate in unlimited live community discussions and self-paced digital content.

Therapy and coaching sessions can be conveniently scheduled on the Modern Health app or website, and often can be booked for the next day!

Backup Day Care
When your child care falls through, it doesn’t have to derail your workday. SIE provides backup care options through Bright Horizons.

Bright Horizons Care Advantage
This program offers discounted preschool enrollment, tutors, elder-care assessments, and referrals to pet sitters.

Medicare Support
SIE partners with Via Benefits to help you or your parents/loved ones navigate Medicare requirements. Via Benefits can assist with supplemental plan options if needed.

Child Developmental and Behavioral Support
SIE partners with RethinkCare to provide support to parents and caregivers, including those who have children with learning, social or behavior challenges, or developmental disabilities. Caregivers receive free access to hundreds of virtual resources and live teleconsultations with parenting experts who can answer questions, brainstorm solutions, and help find additional resources for you and your child.

 

Voluntary Benefits

Accident Plan
Accidents are just that — accidents. You can’t plan for them. But, you can protect yourself financially as much as possible. The Accident Plan pays you cash when you get treatment for an accidental injury, from covered minor to serious injuries. You can use the benefits to help pay out-of-pocket medical costs or personal expenses.

Hospital Indemnity Plan
When you’re in the hospital, you can’t work, so wouldn’t it be nice to get “paid” for your hospital stay? The Hospital Indemnity Plan pays benefits when you have a planned or unplanned hospital stay for an illness, injury, surgery, or birth. The plan pays a lump-sum benefit for a hospital admission and a daily benefit for a covered hospital stay. You can use the benefits to help pay out-of-pocket medical costs or personal expenses. This plan is not the same as medical coverage. See the 2025 Benefits Magazine for an important legal notice about hospital indemnity coverage.

Identity Theft Protection
ID Watchdog can help prevent, detect, and resolve identity theft breaches. ID Watchdog searches billions of data points and alerts you of any changes to your credit, personal information and more. You’ll also get $1 million in coverage for identity theft services.

Legal Plan
For life’s legal issues, professional support is just one call or office visit away. If you use a network attorney, this plan pays all legal fees for will and estate planning, financial and real estate issues, and even trials for covered matters, regardless of length. Other legal services include family law, juvenile matters, immigration assistance, and more.

Coverage includes your spouse and dependents.

Buy-up coverage, for your parents and parents-in-law covers estate planning, identity management, and elder-care consultations (nursing home agreements, Medicare, etc.).

Employee Product Discount/Product-repair Discount
Sony and PlayStation product discounts are available through the SIE Merchandise Store and Sony Family Center. A console exchange service is available if you need help with a defective PlayStation product.

PlayStation Network Vouchers: Each month, a $10 voucher is sent to your work email address that you can spend at the PlayStation Store on games, videos, subscriptions, and more!

PlayStation Plus Voucher: Each August, employees receive a free annual voucher that can be redeemed for 12 months of PlayStation Plus Premium.

College Savings Plan
Saving for a child’s college education shouldn’t break the bank. The ScholarShare 529 College Savings Plan lets you start small and save big over time.

You can open an account and choose from low-cost investment portfolios to help grow your savings.

Plus, SIE will match up to $1,000 per year, per child (up to two children).

Education Reimbursement Program
SIE will help cover the costs of courses — including tuition, lab fees, textbooks, and more — that prepare you for a promotion or transfer. We offer up to $7,500 for undergraduate courses and $9,000 for graduate-level courses per calendar year.

Student Loan Repayment
Student loan debt can be a large burden to shoulder, but you don’t have to go it alone. If eligible, you could receive up to $2,500 per year toward your student loans. We partner with SoFi to offer this benefit, including refinance options to help lower the cost of your debt.

Corporate Discount Program
BenefitHub offers hundreds of ways to save money on valuable products and services. Great deals and new partners are added all the time! In addition, you can get and compare pet, home, and auto insurance quotes across multiple carriers.

Auto and Home Insurance
You can save up to 15% through SIE’s group discounts with Farmers GroupSelect. Many policies are available, including condo coverage, renters insurance, and even coverage for RVs.

Commuter Benefit Plan
We encourage you to use public transportation whenever possible. You can order passes for many public transportation systems in California and other states using pretax dollars.

Wellness Reimbursement
SIE is committed to helping you and your family enjoy a healthy, well-rounded lifestyle. Eligible employees can request reimbursement for dozens of qualified wellness and fitness expenses for themselves and their immediate family members.

Long Term Care
SIE partners with Trustmark, whose long term care insurance can provide financial assistance for at-home, assisted living facility, or nursing home care if you ever need help with essential daily activities like mobility, eating, and bathing.

SIE provides this service at no cost to you — or your pet!

Pet Insurance
MetLife covers thousands of medical problems and conditions related to accidental injuries, poisonings, and illnesses — including cancer. Coverage helps pay for office visits, prescriptions, X-rays, lab fees, surgeries, and more.

Wag Hotels
Give your pet the VIP treatment at Wag Hotels. You’ll get discounts on boarding, day care, bathing, and training.

100% paid preventive care

All health plans cover preventive care at 100% when you use in-network providers. This includes annual physicals/checkups, immunizations, and age- and gender-appropriate screenings (such as mammograms, cholesterol, and prostate).

SIE contributes to your Health Savings Account

If you enroll in the Consumer Choice Plan, SIE will contribute to your Health Savings Account each year: $750 for employee-only coverage and $1,500 for family coverage.

You can get free money

SIE matches $1 for every $1 you contribute to the Sony 401(k) Plan, up to 3% of your eligible pay. And, SIE will match 50 cents for every $1 you contribute on the next 3% of your eligible pay. That’s a 4.5% match on 6% of your contributions!
